The fyrd was a type of Anglo-Saxon army that was mobilised from freemen to defend their shire or from selected representatives to join a royal expedition accompanying their lords. Consisting of a nucleus of experienced soldiers that would be supplemented by ordinary villagers and farmers from the shires, service in the fyrd was usually of short duration, and participants were expected to provide their arms and provisions.

The pack contains 1 metal figure, supplied with a base. Miniatures supplied unpainted and may need some assembly.
